2024 SCHOOL CAMPAIGN

We are pleased to share with you our 2024 Schools Campaign. Entitled, “Light Up the World: Inspired by LaValla Cambodia”, the campaign highlights the incredible relationship between Australian Marists and the LaValla Project. For 25 years the LaValla Project has been the only Government-recognised school for young Cambodians with disabilities.  The authentic Marist charism of this community is captured in their school emblem: three violets.

In the kit, you will find resources designed by our team in collaboration with Marist educators. It includes Sacred Spaces, Country Background, Learning Activities and Fundraising Ideas. Alongside the kit are a poster and some example blurbs to use in various publications and communications.

School Fundraising

Each year, Marist schools across Australia coordinate a variety of activities to fundraise for AMS. Without their valuable contributions, we wouldn’t be able to provide the support and assistance required to conduct vital work in communities throughout the Asia Pacific region. So, in recognition of this important fundraising, AMS awards each school with a certificate noting their fundraising total for the year. We additionally award two trophies, one for the Highest Fundraising School and the other for Marist Spirit. AMS is pleased to announce the following winners for 2023.

Winner of the Highest Fundraising School 2023: Marist College (Ashgrove).

Honourable mentions: Sacred Heart College (Adelaide), Assumption College (Kilmore).

Winner of the Marist Spirit Award 2023: Cardijn College (Noarlunga).

Honourable mentions: John Therry Catholic College (Rosemeadow), St Augustine’s College (Cairns).

School Ambassadors

AMS Student Ambassadors are representatives for solidarity in their school community. Ambassadors inform peers about AMS’ work and take the lead in organising fundraising activities. They help to raise funds and awareness for the incredible programs AMS supports.

There are many benefits to participating in this program, including meeting and working with other Marist school students, gaining new skills in event planning, fundraising and the charity sector, growing leadership skills, and most importantly, helping vulnerable young people to achieve their education dreams.

To find out how you can be an AMS Student Ambassador at your school, talk to your Head of Mission, APRE or REC.
